Mediation is becoming an increasingly positive choice for many individuals who are going through a challenging time with their family situation. Our expertise helps clients sort out:
Is Mediation right for you?
Some people know they want to manage an amicable separation, and this process is a perfect fit for that. Some others may not feel amicable but they still want to manage things in a pragmatic and affordable way.
Whatever your personal circumstances, mediation is an effective way to help you arrive at the decisions that need to be made. These can be made legally binding after mediation if required, and where financial matters are in discussion we will always recommend this.
It’s a very different option from using the court process or the traditional solicitor route. Both these processes can be time consuming and very expensive and this can add to your distress at a time when things are already difficult.
You can work out solutions which suit your situation. It is a very structured process which helps you make crucial decisions at a time when it might be too difficult to do this by yourselves.
We do not give you legal advice but we give you lots of legal information. Most importantly we listen to your particular interests and priorities and do not steer you towards any standard solution. We’ll recommend you seek some independent legal advice at some stage to ensure that you make all your decisions fully informed and advised. We can also mediate with lawyers in attendance and this is a desirable option in some cases.

A typical financial mediation for a divorce, including paperwork, will cost around £1000. If it’s about children or you are unmarried it can be much less. Compare this to the potential costs of using a solicitor or Court where costs can run into tens of thousands of pounds.
Testimonials"I thought it would be so difficult to sit together and sort things out. But you managed the meetings so well and gave us really helpful information. I’ve been to court before and I wish I’d known then that I could have used mediation."
